About these sides and corners worksheets

Counting sides and corners helps kids look at shapes the way a mathematician does. Each question shows a shape and asks how many sides or corners it has. Kids circle the number from a few choices, so it's quick to check and easy to do on their own.

The shapes range from triangles to octagons. In the older levels, some questions show two shapes and ask for the total number of sides, which adds a little addition to the geometry. It's a good bridge between learning shape names and talking about their properties.

What's a polygon?

A polygon is a flat shape made of straight sides that close up, like a triangle, square or hexagon.
