About visual discrimination worksheets

These find-the-twin puzzles train kids to look closely. Each question shows a row of colored shapes, followed by a few rows that are almost the same. Only one is an exact match, and kids circle it. Colors and shapes do all the talking, so no reading is needed.

The other rows have small changes: a swapped color, a different shape, or two pieces in a different order. Rows get longer at each level, from two shapes in preschool to five shapes for older kids. Each page starts with a solved example.

What each level covers

  • Preschool

Rows of two shapes with three rows to choose from.

  • Kindergarten

Rows of three shapes with four choices.

  • 1st Grade & 2nd Grade

Rows of four shapes where the differences get smaller.

  • 3rd Grade & 4th Grade & 5th Grade

Rows of five shapes that need very careful comparison.
